What happened to the Demon Slayer reactions?

rhaenyra didn't say a son for a son, she specifcally said she wanted aemond, not any random son. that's the only line she had in the first episode. that's daemon making his own rogue choices. daemon does feel slighted and there's anger b/c viserys didn't keep him as his heir. at the end of the day, daemon hates the hightowers, always has, and he is loyal to his family, especially now that he has kids to protect. if people couldn't stand criston cole before, you really can't stand him now. otto did scheme and manipulate to place his family in position of power from the beginning, it wasn't just for him. the team black twin (erryk) is the one that won and apologizes to rhaenyra before killing himself, similar assassination plot w/the twins happen in the book too. the budget for the series definitely went up for s2 and is likely to continue until the end of the series. the cinematography alone looks 10 times amazing compared to s1.

people need to stop exaggerating about the blood and cheese event in the book. i actually think it was worse in the show. there was a bunch of melodrama in the book and jaehaerys actually had a swift death in the book b/c they used a sword and there was one swipe, a quick death. the show indicated it was not a quick death as we heard the ongoing sound of them committing the act. regardless, the outcome was the same. this obsession people have w/things not going down exactly as in the book really need to get over it. they seem to forget that events are actually told from unreliable narrators who may have been in the background to see something or either weren't there to witness these situations happen and it's a he said, she said, they said gossip and assumptions. the outcomes may still be the same (as shown in the show), but how they happen is not 100% accurate in the book. the show has actually expanded on the characters and given them layers b/c i found the majority of characters during the dance of dragons cold and unlikeable. it's hard to make a series about characters that you don't like and try to get an audience invested and care about them. i'm glad the show has skipped some parts of assumed and speculated storylines cause it makes no sense in the context of the show and tbh, it wastes time. i don't see house of the dragon going beyond 4 seasons if it keeps the focus on the main conflicts.

I found this channel thanks to the episode 1 of season 2, both your and your wife's empathy (altho your wife's feels so much stronger) and reaction to the sad moments of the show makes us feel the episode so much more. Super reaction, guys, keep it up. <3

i do appreciate your wife saying "without trust you cannot do anything" because at the end of the day with daemon going to harrenhal it was still part of the war plans anyway so he is still sticking to play and fighting for her but then comes the question even after all that he will do for her defense will she come to trust him again? because its his impulsiveness that gets him in trouble the most but his loyalty is still to one house his family. right now i think this is where he thrives at his best which is being on the ground or in the air on his dragon getting stuff done and he has been wanting to leave for harrenhal since S1 finale

my predictions for upcoming episodes- aegon killed by otto/greens. aemond sitting the throne. final battle with ameond vs daemon and rhaenyra. daemon sacrifices himself to kill aemond and save rhaenyra. alicent executed by rhaenyra.

Many people were disappointed with the “Blood & Cheese” sequence (the end of the episode) because in their minds it was the same as disturbing as the red wedding in the books, but to me this sequence was brutal, compared to GOT where we used to see graphic scenes they leave this one to our imagination, only the sound of the knife, the music and the terror in the face of a mother who’s also neurodivergent… disassociating herself and trying to keep her other child alive… to me this was more disturbing tbh. 😩

💚💚Team Green supporter here💚💚 First of all, I have to say, Phia [Helaena] did a great job. Her emotions, the way her character "works" was outstanding. Would I have liked them to have kept a few things from the book? Yes! But only because of Helaena, that she doesn't offer her necklace but her life, etc. But the way it went down fits her character in the show. She had to give up one or she would have lost both. But I have to say, those muffled screams and the noises of them sawing...this will haunt me for a long time..I really couldn't breathe, because I was also in shock. I am very empathetic and could relate to Helaena's panic attack and yes folks, a panic attack can look exactly like you saw it. In any case, I'm looking forward to the next episodes and to Aegon's revenge! My king!

"Alicent is doing her best"? Are you serious? Alicent raised her sons to be full of hate and hypocrisy. She could have stopped feuding with Rhaenyra a long time ago and betrothed their children. But she was so full of meaningless hate she kept it gojng. She knew Viserys would never ever turn against rhaenyra. And she waited for him to whisper some sh*t and twisted the words without clarification. The man had just said the day before he wasn't changing his mind on already settled successions. And now she is perfectly fine with Larys killing in their name. So please stop acting like Alicent is some saint or victim. She's always been a self righteous hypocrite.

Even the Stark family is included in the drawing. I wonder if that is how Uncle Benjin was sent? And Helaena as far as we've seen, has always been right with her visions. She likely knows that as well, so she likely knows there was no changing what happens. It was her son or all of them. It just took her a moment to realize that and choose.
